If you feel like life is just heavy or harder than it should be, or if you feel stuck, it might not be your mindset. What it might actually be is your body asking for help. So many people are trying to think their way through exhaustion or depression or anxiety. They try to think their way through burnout and they blame themselves for lack of motivation.

They push harder and harder. They try new routines. They follow all the YouTube videos with the five step or the 17 step or the perfect morning routine. They blame themselves when nothing sticks, when nothing works. But the reality is, is that when you feel this way, it's more likely that your body is inflamed, dysregulated, or depleted. Willpower is and never will be enough.

I spent years believing that if I could just be more disciplined, more positive or more focused, everything would fall into place. But no matter how much self development content I consumed, I still felt tired, foggy and disconnected. The turning point for me was realizing that my body was not broken. It was overwhelmed. And once I started supporting my body first,

everything started to shift for me. Let me give you a quick story. I started my business almost a decade ago. I struggled for years while growing that business because my body and my health were out of alignment. I ended up with an autoimmune disease. I struggled with depression and I just had low poor energy.

And it wasn't until I really started to focus on my health and my wellbeing, that things really started to shift in a positive manner. And I was able to grow my business, improve my life as a whole, and just start to really feel proud about where I'm going in the future. So if you relate to this at all, I want you to understand that your nervous system, your hormones, your gut,

and your brain drive how you think, how you feel and how you act. Let me read that to you one more time. So it really sits home with you. Your nervous system, your hormones, your gut and your brain drive how you think, how you feel and how you act. the way your body feels, the health of your body is determinative.

to how you show up in the world. When your body feels unsafe or stressed, it stays in survival mode. It stays in fight or flight. Sometimes you'll hear people say things like, if there isn't a fire or if I'm not doing something, I feel uneasy. It feels like something's wrong. That is a telltale sign of your nervous system being out of whack.

That is a sign of you being in continuous constant fight or flight because you're overstimulated overwhelmed dealing with some type of trauma or you have a health issue. could be some of all of them. could be little pieces of all of them overwhelming your body, healing your body creates the foundation for clarity, for emotional stability, for confidence and for real momentum in your life.

Healing your body is the biggest thing and the first step you should take for moving towards your dreams, for creating the life you want. Start with regulation, not perfection. You should focus on calming your nervous system before fixing your habits. Simple things like better sleep, steady meals, gentle movement, and time outside can change how you show up faster than

any motivational content or routine or habit ever will. Let me go through that again with you. Calming your nervous system before fixing your habits will help you get closer to changing your life faster than any other thing that you can do. So today, my action step for you is to choose one body based action.

Nika Lawrie (04:43.726)
One thing to focus on to support your body, to support your health and to support your nervous system. That can be things like eating a real breakfast, high in protein in the morning. Don't start your day with sugar, start your day with protein and healthy fats. Go for a short walk. Even five or 10 minutes can make a huge difference. If you can work in 20 to 30, that's even better.

but schedules can be crazy. Just be proud of yourself for even getting in a five minute walk. That counts towards calming your nervous system. Another thing you can do is turn off your phone or TV just a little bit earlier tonight. Instead of turning it off at 10, turn it off at nine 30 or even better, turn it off at nine and read a book before you go to sleep or just calm yourself and relax and then go to sleep. Starting your nights is what's going to

help your days be even better. So focusing on your nighttime routine and how you fall asleep and getting that good rest will actually improve your next day far more than almost anything else. And it allows you to start the day refreshed and feeling good, which gives you more energy, which in turn gives you more momentum to achieve those goals. One small signal of safety to your body is enough to start that full shift.

So remember when you heal your body, you start

Stop fighting your life. When you heal your body, you stop fighting your life. Things start to fall into place. One thing that I always say that helps me remember* this is body before business. And this, when you do this, everything else will start to fall in place. And this is when you'll rise.
